📲 How to Check Your 2025 Matric Results Online
Official Online Portal
- Go to the Department of Basic Education (DBE) results portal:
- https://www.education.gov.za/MatricResults/ExamResults.aspx (active from results day).Â
- Select the NSC exam results link.Â
- Enter your exam number and any other required personal details (sometimes ID number).Â
- Click Search, and your result will appear on the screen.
Tips:
- Have your exam number and ID number ready.Â
- The site can be slow with high traffic early on results day — refresh or try again later if it’s busy.Â
📱 Check Results on Your Phone
SMS & USSD (Offline)
If you don’t have internet or prefer mobile:
- SMS:
- Text your ID number + exam number to the designated results SMS number (e.g., 35658). Charges apply (~R1.50).Â
- USSD:
- Dial *120*35658# and follow prompts to enter your details. Standard network charges apply.Â
These will send your results via SMS when they’re available.
📌 Other Ways to Retrieve Your Results
1. From Your School or Exam Centre
- Go to the school or examination centre where you wrote the exams. Your Statement of Results is usually available from 13 January.Â
- This physical statement is the official copy and is required for most university, bursary, and job applications.Â
2. Provincial or App Platforms
- Some provinces (e.g., Gauteng) have their own results portals — like:
- https://results.gauteng.gov.za/ — where you enter your exam number to view results.Â
- Official mobile apps (like DBE or MatricsMate) can show your results too.Â
3. Newspapers
- Major South African newspapers may publish lists of matric results using exam numbers only (ID privacy rules).Â
❗ If You Can’t Find Your Results
- Wait a little — some candidates may not show up immediately online due to system delays.Â
- If still missing after a while, contact your school or the provincial education office.Â
