REQUIREMENTS: Basic Education and Training NQF level 3. (A Senior/Grade 12 certificate
will be an added advantage). Two (2) years of experience in the security industry serve as an added bonus. Registered in PSIRA Grade C. knowledge of the access control and movement of equipment and warehouses. knowledge of
prescribed security procedures (e.g. MISS, MPSS, information protection act, etc). Knowledge of relevant emergency procedures. The applicant must possess these skills (report writing skills, investigation, riot control, communication skills, search and emergency evacuation), as well as first aid and fire prevention skills.
DUTIES: Perform access control functions by controlling access and exit and determine which visitors have an appointment or the service the visitor requires Contact the appropriate employee to confirm the appointment or refer the visitor
to the corresponding service delivery point. Complete or ensure that access the control register is checked and control documents/cards are issued as required. Escort visitors to employee/relevant places when necessary. Operate X-ray machines while performing access control to detect unauthorized and dangerous equipment (for example, firearms and dangerous objects) when necessary. Make sure that unauthorized persons and dangerous objects do not enter the building/premises. Do proper lockdowns for all offices and access points.
Identify suspicious behavior. Incident tracking. Report all identified security breaches and non-compliance with the supervisor. Ensuring safety in building and facilities through company building and facilities patrol to identify and verify doors are locked and unlocked as needed, water
leaks and faucets are closed, fire hazards, exposed electrical contacts, and other fire hazards emanating, for example, from chemicals. Lights, on and off like required, suspicious objects and packages. Apply emergency procedures (in situations such as bomb alarms, riots, etc.) and alert the emergency services department management. Monitor and respond to the alarm system. make sure that equipment/goods and documents do not leave or enter the building or unauthorized premises. Records must be in place completing or securing
